When the Yeerks invaded, the Andalite military was overwhelmed due to the parasites' ability to control hosts from within. Elfangor, as Prince of the Andalite fighter ship GalaxyTree, arrived on Earth after his ship was damaged and its crew had abandoned ship or died, leaving him the only one who could pilot it. He was wounded in battle with Visser Three and trapped under wreckage in critical condition, physically unable to morph. Visser Three then killed him. Before dying, Elfangor gave the Morphing Cube directly to the human children (Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Cassie, Marco); Ax was not present on Earth at that time and did not receive it from Elfangor. Elfangor's death became a martyr for the cause, but the opposition continued through the Andalite military and the Animorphs.

In Their Own Story
