He didn't bring flowers or stones; those would be found by prying eyes. He simply closed his eyes and whispered a promise to the trees: We are still fighting.

Reader's Guide

The site is located in dense woodland adjacent to the lake where the Animorphs often gather. It offers natural cover for morphing sequences, shielding them from overhead surveillance or Yeerk scouts. However, the area remains strategically vulnerable. Because it was the scene of a major conflict, Yeerks may monitor the perimeter periodically. Morphing here requires extreme caution to avoid leaving trace evidence like discarded exoskeletons or disturbed soil. For training purposes, the terrain is uneven and cluttered with underbrush, making stealth morphs difficult but realistic for combat scenarios. The Animorphs typically visit only at night or during inclement weather to maintain operational security.
